Skepta and Jammer’s record label Más Tiempo announces ‘Unstable’ EP from UK DJ/producer Ossie.

Delivering the first Más Tiempo release of 2024, ‘Unstable’ EP sees Ossie return to the label following his previous collaboration with co-founder Skepta, 'Smoke In Your Eyes'. The five-track EP welcomes four solo cuts plus a new collaboration with J Kolo on 9th February 2024.

From early material on labels such as Kode 9’s renowned Hyperdub through to Kerri Chandler’s legendary Madhouse, plus material via his own SuperCali imprint, Ossie has crafted a blend of house, bass, UK garage and even disco to form his unique sound, delivering groove-driven cuts across the electronic spectrum. However, the launch of Skepta and Jammer’s burgeoning record label Más Tiempo has seen the UK talent return to the studio and combine sounds not only exploring nostalgia but looking ahead to what is next, with a renewed focus and new approach to production and experimentation, building on vast radio support from Gilles Peterson on BBC 6Music through to the likes of The Blessed Madonna, Benji B and Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1. Stepping up to deliver the imprint’s first release of 2024, and the first stand-alone release with no involvement from either co-founder, early February welcomes a quartet of fresh originals, plus a bumping collaboration alongside fellow Más Tiempo family member J Kolo, as he drops his new EP ‘Unstable’.

Title track ‘Unstable’ brings a wicked and menacing groove as zigzagging bass stabs meet sharp percussion licks and an infectious lead melody, showcasing exactly why the production has been causing a stir amongst both label co-founders sets. Next, ‘Dreams’ is a deep dive into a blend of vibrant vocals amongst resonant bass stabs, while ‘Un Poquito Más’ sees the arrival of J Kolo as the two link up on a hazy production merging vibrant guitar melodies and rolling drums. ‘Green Max’ switches things up, combining skippy drums and sharp synth stabs, before ‘Dark Summers’ sees Ossie draw on classic house influences for a soulful house cut drenched in Chicago influences to close.
